The problem with this favorite pastime is that most fail to realize that it negatively affects ourselves and each other, not to mention our everyday lives. Some would say gossip is the art of small-minded people. The negative effects of small talk are endless; not only is gossip annoying and tiresome, it’s also depressing, causes self-consciousness, and has the power to morph people who would normally rather converse about ideas and events into gossipers as well.
Realizing and dealing with the fact that most people in most places base their everyday lives conversing about other people can be quite depressing. The golden rule states that we should treat each other the way we would like to be treated, and that means being considerate of one another. Most would rather bash their neighbor’s reputation instead of accepting the fact that we are all on this planet together and, therefore, represent one another in our human race. It seems like homo-sapiens are coexisting in this melodramatic tragedy where every character dies. There are no longer any personalities to differentiate from one another, just the floating subject on ‘worrying what the next guy is doing’.

That shame that eve taught adam…. Funny, women are the ones I blame for most negative occurrences….

I’ve always been that way since, shy about showing certain parts, I’ve worked in a strip club for 2.5 years, and still, after seeing naked women around me everywhere in my workplace and half the time of the week, I still have never shown myself willingly ever…. At least not to women.

Lyrics in music, to thoughts and actions from other people, words that are said, materials people grow fond of before all things, money and wanting more of it…. It’s all wrong, and it CAN be proven… if u do believe in something, whether it be GOD or Allah, Buddah, or some kind of higher power that is good, with an opposite being bad…. Evil these things are, it’s all around us…. And society instills in people a thirst for MORE knowledge, at least in me. How do things work? How do things happen? Wanting to know everything about everything…. Sometimes to be able to speak about topics and always be right, or to not get lost in intelligent conversation, the reasons are endless. But this thirst for knowledge, knowledge itself, is god-like, which is wrong, it is blasphemy, it is what he told adam and eve to stay away from…. Is that in fact, original sin???

It’s not like the longing of any other human being. Innocence is such a rare treasure, given to us by the Lord himself, without us having to ask… beautiful virginity is counted as true innocence, I used to believe so myself as well. But what most don’t understand is that innocence itself is so much more… so very much more that I once was but no longer am… innocence is pure, it is golden.

What is innocence u ask? Well, yes, being virgin is considered innocence…. But when that is gone, nothing is really taken but that, just virginity… all other innocence is still left behind, unless one has lost all the other innocence first… but in my case, I’m not quite sure which came first. Innocence is everything Knowledge isn’t… Knowledge is knowing the difference between right and wrong…. First off it is the woman's choice to either get the abortion or not, it IS her body. Women can decide on having an abortion for several reasons. These reasons include whoever the father is, personal lifestyle, and financial reasons. The effects of abortion can have positive impacts on society as well.

Some pregnant women decide to get abortions because they’re not financially stable, they know that bringing a child into the world can interfere with what little money they have, and know that they wouldn’t be able to support their baby as well as they might be able to in the future, when they’re really ready for children. With abortion being legal, those women who can’t afford babies can improve their lives before the day comes that they are, in fact, financially ready to have babies.

If a woman is pregnant with a baby and she is addicted to drugs, and still decides to keep the baby, it could be born with serious health problems. There are so many cases that include babies being born addicted to heroin, premature births, and retardation that result from drug addicts giving birth. The legalization of abortion has helped a lot in those scenarios. Because abortion is legal such cases have been reduced, even prevented. It is better for a fetus to not be if they’re going to have health conditions that would interfere with their life. Life is hard enough as it is.

Some would say to go on birth control, or to use condoms to prevent unwanted pregnancies, but humans do, in fact, make mistakes, and sometimes don’t have the financial means for such prevention. Abortion may be the final answer for those people and it being legal is a great thing! And not to sound cold hearted, but think of the great population control that comes from abortion on this way over-populated planet.

Since history is taught in order for us to not repeat it, the Holocaust stories would’ve never been taught, and it might’ve happened anyway (with different details, of course). So we would be in danger of something related to it happening. Being the person that I am, I would be a good example; people would look up to me.
Most people, like utilitarians, feel differently than i do... they feel that Hitler should've definitely been wiped out, to save the thousands of lives that were taken in vein. I do feel the pain of those people, what Hitler did was very wrong, but that situation was going to happen if not in that way, in another. Because it did happen, people now no to never bring about an experience like that ever again, they know what precautions to take in order to prevent it. If the Holocaust never happened, would we have that knowledge? Would people in Colombia be killed if they didn't have plastic surgery, for example? You never know. Everything happens for a reason, even the Holocaust.
By the time I would have turned 18, if I got the opportunity to deposit $1 million in my parent's bank account, I would use that money (which would have collected a great deal of interest) for good. I could start an organization to help the homeless, I could be a motivational speaker for young adults, I could even spend my money so wisely on only necessities that i would be setting a good example for everyone around me. In turn, the people I help can either help other people, or set good examples for others, even both. I would be putting positive energy out into the world, instead of neutral energy (like simply killing Hitler, when taking another's life, no matter who the person is, is a bad thing to do anyway).

A View of Jews Under the Floor

While discussing with my boyfriend about teachings that go on in my critical thinking/ ethics class, I read to him a part of my notes to see what his answer would be. “Imagine you are a Jewish parent in a village that is about to be taken by Nazis. All the villagers know that the Nazi soldiers will kill every Jewish person in the village, so before the Nazis arrive, all the Jewish people hide together underneath the floor of the Church. Suppose we also know that the Nazis will not look under the Church unless prompted to. You are carrying your infant. As the Nazis arrive, your infant begins to cry. You muffle the infant cries with your hand. Now the infant will cry even harder if you move your hand, but will suffocate soon if you do not. You know that if you move your hand, the Nazis will hear your infant, find everyone hiding under the floor, and kill everyone. If you do not move your hand, your infant will suffocate. What is the morally right course of action?”
He said in that scenario, he would move his hand to let his baby breathe. I told him whether or not he moved his hand, the baby would die anyway. If he didn’t move his hand, the baby would suffocate and die, and if he did move his hand, everyone along with the baby would die. So as far as the baby’s life (or breathing at least) went, it was a lose lose situation. After he heard me say all that, he still decided he would let the baby breathe. Of course, his reasoning is irrational. It was like he was saying that the life of the baby was more important than all the lives of the villagers as a whole. When he said that, all I really heard was, “If my baby can’t live, no one should live.”

In order to prove to my boyfriend that consequentialism was, in fact, apparent in the example of the 1st paragraph, I had to change around the scenario a little bit. I told him to imagine that all the Jewish people hiding underneath the floor with him, were his entire family on his mother’s side – an entire generation. With that said, I then asked him again what he would do. “I would let my baby suffocate and die.” he said. It was like he was saying that all the lives of his family members were more important than the life of his baby. It didn’t matter if his family members had already lived their lives, and it didn’t matter if all his family members happened to be mentally challenged. It didn’t matter if his family might’ve been composed of child molesters and perhaps, drug dealers. It also didn’t matter whether the baby was going to grow up to save the world someday… what mattered was his inherent family, and not himself, or a little baby that came from him. One of the main things I heard when he said that was, “My family’s name matters more than anything else.”
<p class="MsoNormal" style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; It seems to me that he would be considered an egoist then. Being that each member of his family is a piece of him, as is the baby (one little piece), he will act in that interest because he feels that the more pieces of him; the more important (can be considered somewhat selfish). I told him it sounded like in olden times he could’ve been a king, being that a king always acted in favor of his royal family, and not in any favor of the peasants (which would be villagers not related to him). Learning that my boyfriend is egotistical… is not very pleasant.
